汽車發動機的電噴裝置一般是由噴油油路、傳感器組和電子控制單元三大部分組成的。如果噴射器安裝在每個氣缸的進氣管上,即汽油的噴射是由多個地方(至少每個氣缸都有一個噴射點)噴入氣缸的,這就是多點電噴。


多點電噴在每個氣缸蓋上安裝一個電磁噴油器,直接將燃油噴入進氣歧管,再與流經進氣歧管的空氣流混合,當進氣門 打開時,混合氣體被吸入氣缸。多點電噴與化油器式進氣系統相比,而且從根本上解決了相鄰氣缸進氣重疊而引起的配氣不均勻,功率下降,油耗增加的問題,而且多點噴射發動機可以采用順序噴射,因此空燃比的控制比單點噴射更精確,可以根據正時進行噴油,對噴油量、噴油時刻進行精確控制,所以多點噴射發動機的排放更好,更經濟省油。
